It just makes business people happier if they carry out their business conferences in play rooms.
Big ole soft couches. Bright throw pillows. Curving tables. Toys like pogo sticks and slinkies. Right brain triggers.
Many conferences these days encourage team building through making banana splits together. They also encourage team building by working with lincoln logs and erector sets.
This fosters feelings of playfulness and hands-on learning, which will add to inspiration with problem solving.
I'm all for this. In fact, given it's the beginning of May (which is surely important in some spiritual and/or scientific sense) I think I'll create a conference of one to encourage (my) right brain thinking.
I have a pogo stick left over from one Christmas years ago. It's rusted, but at least now I know what subconscious element was demanding I hang onto it.
I did throw away my slinkies, but I do have a wooden staircase just crying out for a change of pace. I think I know where the closest toy store is.
Lincoln logs--well my kids didn't play with Lincoln Logs. They were into transformers. But I did, when I was a kid. I don't have them anymore. But they can be bought on E-Bay.
And as for the banana split, I was wondering what to have for dinner. I have the icecream, but I confess I haven't looked at a banana in at least a month. I buy them, for the potassium, but never eat them. Now I realize why. Bananas should be eaten with icecream.
The sun is out. I'm in need of some problem solving and some creative thinking. So I'll use the tricks of the trade of business and childhood.
Aahh, my inner child. So loved, so nourished, so spoiled rotten--
But so right brain.
