I guess Ringo has just had it. Had it with all those pesky autographs and all.
I totally get it. There comes a point when Mom just has to let the kids loose. They have to start cooking their own darn dinner. Mom has had it. If she steps into the grocery store one more time to buy macaroni, apples and hamburger meat she is going to have a very public meltdown, and surely the kids don't want that.
Likewise for an aging rock star.
Surely we don't want to see little ole Ringo throw himself off any bridge anywhere, all because somebody out there still wants his autograph.
Which does beg the question, doesn't it--
WHO still wants Ringo Starr's autograph? I mean really. Is it worth money or something? Is it something that should be put in the family trust...for a rainy day? Is there something about the desirability of Ringo Starr's aging autograph I should know about?
Anyway, he's tossing over one of the most tedious aspects of his life, this signing autographs business.
I'm okay with that. Which reminds me--
The other day, on the metro, Mick Jagger got on. There he stood, right in front of me. Gorgeous--
Only, this Mick was a lot taller than the real Mick, a whole lot taller--
And a whole lot younger.
